About the Role
The Walt Disney Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Developer to lead development efforts for the MyDisneyToday ServiceNow portal—a world-class end-user experience platform for internal Disney employees.
As a Developer Lead, you will translate business requirements and user stories into functional, scalable, and intuitive software solutions. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing complex ServiceNow applications that enhance operational excellence and employee experience across the enterprise.
This role is ideal for a certified ServiceNow developer with deep expertise in Service Portal, UI/UX design, and agile methodologies. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions aligned with Disney’s technology roadmap and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of ServiceNow Portal experiences for end users, balancing performance, accessibility, and platform best practices.
Develop, test, and deploy innovative software solutions using ServiceNow technologies, including Employee Center Pro.
Collaborate with product teams, architects, and engineering leads to ensure cross-platform alignment and technical excellence.
Provide Tier 3 engineering support, ensuring platform health, stability, and supportability.
Act as a peer group leader, ensuring team delivery aligns with platform standards and processes.
Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and inquiries.
Drive UI/UX decisions that meet business requirements and accessibility standards.
Understand the implications of design decisions across interconnected systems.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering or development, with at least 5 years on the ServiceNow platform.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow Portal technologies, including Employee Center Pro.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Java, REST, XML, HTML, and CSS.
Deep understanding of ITIL v3 or later and ITSM best practices.
Demonstrated experience leading small teams and delivering business outcomes.
Strong communication, writing, and executive presentation skills.
Experience with agile methodologies (e.g., PMI-ACP, SAFe, ICP-ACC).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multiple platforms and integrations.
Advanced certifications in ServiceNow (e.g., Certified Systems Administrator, Certified Application Developer).
Additional training in agile, product management, or software engineering.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MBA.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration.
