The Coordinator, Strategic Communications (Project Hire) supports both the strategic efforts of the Corporate Communications team and the employee engagement goals of the Internal Communications team. This role contributes to media research, editorial tracking, internal storytelling, and event support while also providing administrative support to DET’s Vice Presidents of Corporate Communications and Internal Communications.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, possesses strong writing skills, has an interest in internal and external messaging, and works collaboratively within a dynamic organization.
Corporate Communications Support
- Provide general project and research support to the Corporate Communications team across content, executive, and issues communications.
- Analyze media coverage and provide summary briefs with insights on traction and key narratives, including industry podcast and newsletter recaps.
- Maintain editorial and messaging trackers across content and executive communications initiatives.
- Monitor press and social media platforms for relevant breaking news, developing stories, industry news and emerging trends.
- Collaborate with partners across DET’s lines of business to align messaging and content.
- Gather input from Strategic Communications leaders for weekly status reports and updates.
- Provide general administrative support for DET’s vice president, Corporate Communications.
Internal Communications Support
- Support planning and coordination of internal employee engagement activations, including team events, recognition programs, and culture-building experiences.
- Assist with logistics, scheduling, and communication with internal partners such as Facilities, AV, and Catering.
- Provide administrative and executional support for internal campaigns, including tracking timelines, assembling materials, and coordinating review processes.
- Help maintain internal content calendars and event trackers to ensure smooth operations and alignment across initiatives.
- Assist in gathering and organizing content for employee communications
- Contribute creative ideas for engagement tactics, activations, or storytelling opportunities that help celebrate employees, bolster connection, and enhance Disney Entertainment Television’s culture.
- Help facilitate cross-functional collaboration by coordinating meetings and follow-ups with internal stakeholders.
- Track employee engagement inputs and help document outcomes and feedback to support continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in corporate communications, publicity, internal communications, or a related field—preferably within entertainment or media.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent organization and project management abilities; able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate, timely work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote)
- A collaborative team player with a proactive, can-do attitude and strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated discretion and professional judgment in handling confidential or sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- A passion for storytelling, media, and supporting employee culture and engagement.
- Experience with media monitoring tools or content management platforms is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Additional Information
- This is a Project Hire assignment with an anticipated length of 12 months and there is no guarantee of permanent placement.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $64,300.00 - $86,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
