About your future team
The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Global Investigations Manager within Global Security Investigations. The Global Security Investigations Team is a 24/7 response unit supporting the Global Security division. The team conducts research on various topics, including loss or theft of intellectual property or personal information, employee misconduct, physical property theft, workplace violence matters, and cybercrime. In addition, our team develops threat assessments and mitigation strategies to keep people safe. The team collaborates closely with several other business groups, including Human Resources, Employee Relations, and Legal, as well as external partners such as local, federal, and/or international law enforcement, while conducting these investigations.
The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite in Glendale, California at least 4 days a week. There may be occasional travel to both domestic and international company sites.
Essential Functions
- Identify and analyze insider threat risks/vulnerabilities, assign investigative groups, and ensure program alignment with Company objectives.
- Experience in multidisciplinary threat assessment methodology.
- Maintain strict discretion and confidentiality regarding assignments and investigations.
- Conduct complex investigations into unlawful activity and violations of company policies and procedures efficiently, thoroughly, and professionally.
- Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) and internet research to support investigative matters.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive customer/client relations.
- Author detailed professional reports and maintain well-organized and accurate incident files.
- Collaborate with other Investigations Managers to conduct investigations.
- Work with other Investigative partners on security and investigative enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
- Interface, as necessary, with executives on security and investigative matters.
- Partner with other business units to develop and deliver employee training to maintain awareness and minimize incidents.
- Assist the team with Global Security related events and functions.
- Deliver exceptional, individualized, and attentive customer service to department clients throughout investigations and incidents.
- Foster strong relationships through proactive, hands-on engagement with clients and partners.
- Speak to reporting parties and conduct interviews in-person.
Here’s what you will need to be successful in the role…
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5 + years or more of experience in investigative practices, including: conducting interviews; locating, reviewing, and analyzing data; conducting investigative research in physical security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control); preserving evidence; and producing cohesive and thorough written reports.
- Advanced internet research skills. Strong knowledge of online research techniques, search engines, and databases.
- Extensive practical experience and proficiency in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills to assess the quality and relevance of online information.
- Experience with standard case management systems, including entering and maintaining case documents and evidence.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in fundamental business skills; proficiency in standard office software programs, such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software (PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.), and collaboration tools (Teams, Slack, Zoom, etc.)
- Experience in leading a security operations or investigative team or history of increasing responsibility in a security or investigative operations structure.
- Exhibit high integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Working knowledge of intelligence aggregation tools; including review of the output of automated data models to assess and identify potential insider threats.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Technical/Professional Expertise
- Advanced degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience with producing basic statistics and case analysis data in a standard case management system.
- Cyber security awareness and experience in conducting cyber-related investigations.
- Insider threat experience in identifying and analyzing insider threat risk and vulnerabilities.
- Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Security Event Incident Management (SIEM) Tools, and Employee Monitoring Solutions.
- Experience developing/analyzing UAM signatures and using User and Entity Behavior Analytics.
- Mental Health and/or Suicide Prevention Training.
- Security/Cyber certification such as SANS, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, CEH, SEC+, or equivalent preferred.
- Other relevant certifications (e.g., CERT Insider Threat Program Manager/Vulnerability Assessor, GCITP, CCITP F/A, etc.).
- An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance, with the ability for Top Secret Clearance in the future.
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $124,900 to $167,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
