Our sourcing specialists are our guides. They uncover the needs of our clients, strategize, analyze, collaborate and negotiate to support the full sourcing lifecycle. This role requires strong analytical skills, the desire to always find a winning solution and a focus on continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
The sourcing specialist will support the Strategic Sourcing Team by assisting with day-to-day sourcing activities aligned to the goals and objectives of Disney Experiences. This includes helping gather requirements, supporting competitive bid events (e.g., RFIs/RFPs), organizing supplier information, and completing foundational analyses to compare options. The role will help identify and maintain a pipeline of potential suppliers by conducting research and compiling market findings. This position will support Facilities and Operational Services categories, with a focus on learning the category landscape, process steps, and stakeholder needs. The sourcing specialist will work under guidance from more senior team members and will build skills in sourcing fundamentals, supplier engagement, and contract support.
This individual contributor role is designed for early-career talent who are eager to learn and grow within Strategic Sourcing. The sourcing specialist will work with a high degree of ownership on assigned projects and deliverables, leveraging mentorship and coaching from category managers and senior specialists to build sourcing capability. Success in this role comes from strong organization, clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and follow through, with a curious, customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather market, supplier, and pricing information and organizing it into clear summaries for stakeholders.
- Assist with basic cost and value comparisons and help track savings and performance opportunities in accordance with team guidance.
- Maintain supplier lists, contact information, and sourcing documentation to support ongoing supplier relationships and continuity.
- Support competitive bid events by preparing materials, coordinating supplier communications, tracking timelines, and helping compile supplier responses.
- Use basic analytical skills to help summarize supplier, pricing, and scope information; flag data gaps and follow defined processes to resolve them.
- Support stakeholder intake by scheduling meetings, capturing requirements, and helping document scope of work details in team templates.
- Communicate status updates clearly and professionally and deliver responsive, customer-focused support to internal partners.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 0–2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, finance, or a related field (including internships or co-op experience).
- Interest in procurement and contracting concepts; ability to learn how requirements, pricing, and terms are evaluated.
- Demonstrates adaptability and follow-through in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable sharing updates with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to create clear, well-organized documents and basic presentations (PowerPoint) with guidance.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with direction and clear priorities.
- Collaborates effectively across teams and demonstrates a customer-service mindset.
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills (e.g., filters, pivot tables, lookups) and comfort working with data.
- Willingness to learn end-to-end sourcing processes and follow established procedures and compliance requirements.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area such as business, finance, supply chain management, marketing or relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership experience within sourcing
- CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, or similar certifications
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA)
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB)
The hiring range for this position in Florida is $62,200.00 to $83,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
