Occupying a 32-acre site and providing facilities of the highest industry standards, the studio features nine sound stages, several production offices, workshops, and hosts around 50 independent entertainment industry businesses. The team at Disney Studios Australia have an exciting opportunity for a Film Lighting Coordinator to join the team in a permanent capacity! This position is responsible for supporting the NSW Film Lighting team in the preparation of film lighting equipment for rental. This includes, testing and tagging equipment, scanning items for dispatch and return, barcoding, delivery, and pick up lighting packages to customers and preparing paperwork for equipment hire.
Our ideal candidate is someone with an understanding and technical knowledge of film lighting equipment, capable of confidently handling a wide range of tools and technologies used in the field. You consistently demonstrate exceptional customer service, ensuring every client interaction is professional, responsive, and supportive. With a strong safety focus, you prioritize maintaining a secure work environment for yourself, work colleagues, and clients. Your keen attention to detail ensures high quality outcomes. Extra bonus points if you don’t mind taking a break from the physical nature of the role to focus on administration duties in equal measure.

Your key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Provide exceptional service to the Film Lighting department, assisting with all aspects of preparing film lighting equipment for rental
Educate junior staff on the equipment preparation process
Provide exceptional customer service to all personnel and clients working on productions and the lot
Stay informed of current Work Health & Safety (WH&S) legislation to ensure compliance
Adhere to the contractual entitlements in your employment contract and Company policies
Actively contribute as a key team member within a specialist area, as well as through effective participation across all functional areas
Manage administration for Lighting bookings
To be successful in this role, you will hold:
Working understanding and technical knowledge of film lighting equipment
Excellent understanding of WH&S policy and procedures
Detailed knowledge of portable appliance test procedures as defined in AS / NZS 3760 or willingness to obtain certification
High degree of computer literacy
Hold a current forklift drivers’ licence (not mandatory, but preferred)
Ability to build and maintain an effective team relationship
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and follow through on all tasks as required
Self-starter - enjoys solving problems and initiating solutions
