Job-Zusammenfassung:

The Disney Direct to Consumer (DTC) team is building the future of media and entertainment. In six years, we’ve created the must-have streaming homes of Marvel, Pixar, Walt Disney Animation, 20th Century Studios, Hulu, and ESPN+ (and many more iconic brands). We do this through utilizing cutting-edge technology and best-in-class storytelling – stories that may start at Disney Streaming, but go on to impact our theatrical movies, consumer products, parks, resorts, cruises, and media networks.

The DTC Pricing & Yield Management team is seeking a Senior Analyst to join the team. Be a part of a talented and highly visible team of professionals with backgrounds in consulting, investment banking, operational planning, and strategic finance who serve as in-house monetization advisors to the DTC executive leadership team. This relatively new team’s accomplishments have already made an immediate impact on the Direct to Consumer business in driving structural decisions around pricing strategy and promotion optimization. Pricing & Yield Management sits within the broader DTC Subscriber Growth & Monetization organization in charge of subscriber, engagement, and revenue planning.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Director, DTC Pricing and Yield Management, the Senior Analyst will provide analytical and business modeling support to drive and optimize our global promotions and offers strategy for Disney+, Hulu, and the Disney Bundle portfolio. Illustrative examples include ideating, evaluating, and tracking subscriber acquisition, win-back, and engagement initiatives, and analyzing proprietary pricing and promotions research to inform growth and monetization opportunities.

Given the dynamic scope of Pricing & Yield Management, projects will often be complex, fluid, and involve multiple stakeholders. Success in this role requires robust analytical skills with an interest in leveraging data to solve problems, and presentation skills appropriate for executive discussions. The Senior Analyst will be expected to work independently on projects and adeptly manage expectations of peers and cross-functional partners across Subscriber Growth, Business Operations, Product, Data & Analytics, and regional teams.

Responsibilities

This hands-on role requires a strong understanding of the B2C subscription model, and more specifically SVOD streaming business models, and their positioning within the larger entertainment landscape. The right candidate will benefit from prior experience in pricing, promotion and portfolio optimization work. Responsibilities include:

  • Support in the development of DTC-wide promotions and offers which align to the subscription consumer lifecycle
    • Create business cases and accompanying financial models to support the implementation of acquisition, winback, upsell, and/or retention offers to solve for a specific business need
    • Partner with in-house and external Research/Insights groups to translate customer survey data into customer reaction scenarios in the context of promotional options
    • Create and collaborate on robust monitoring analytics to track promotions impact, across various subscriber metrics such as acquisition or conversion, and provide recommendations on how learnings can be incorporated into future business decisions
    • Collaborate with broader Subscriber Growth & Monetization team to incorporate analysis into monthly, annual, or long range subscriber planning
    • Primarily focus on US and Canada business objectives, but with eventual expansion to other Disney+ regions
  • Maintain a competitive pricing and promotions tracker which will be an integral part of short-term and long-term price and promotion setting
  • Provide DTC stakeholders with highly visible, ad hoc analysis, insights, and executive level presentations to support key business objectives surrounding promotion structure, scenarios, and post-mortems
  • Work in partnership with regional counterparts on pricing and promotion research best practices, as well as assist in building out of region-specific promotional frameworks

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, direct-to-consumer strategy, corporate/product strategy, or similar fields
  • Impeccable Excel skills with experience navigating large data sets, building financial/subscription models, and tackling broader analytical analyses
  • Excellent PowerPoint and accompanying communication skills, with an ability to distill complex ideas into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
  • Thrive in ambiguity with a deliverable-focused attitude, strong work ethic, ability to prioritize, and resolve an array of issues simultaneously
  • Ability to work well in teams, both within the group and with other business units
  • Capable of juggling multiple tasks and projects at the same time, while keeping leaders properly informed
  • Familiarity with working in or with global, large organizations is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in pricing and/or promotion strategy projects is a strong plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of subscription / DTC KPIs and media & entertainment industry experience is a strong plus
  • Analytics experience with Looker and Tableau is strongly preferred

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Economics or similar quantitative discipline
