About the Role & Team
Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) team oversees the Disney+ and Hulu streaming businesses within the Disney Entertainment segment, bringing The Walt Disney Company’s world-class storytelling directly to audiences around the globe.
The Business Operations team enables the DTC organization to operate at scale while driving growth, stability, and long‑term success. The team supports critical areas including strategic solution design, planning and program management, execution of major business initiatives, cross‑functional communication and reporting, business intelligence and decision support, and the development of procedures and processes that allow Disney’s streaming services to grow and operate efficiently.
This role sits within the Business Planning & Operations team and will play a critical role in key initiatives within the DTC ecosystem to drive critical business metrics, including subscriber growth, monetization, and retention.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Planning, the Senior Business Planning and Operations Manager, will lead cross functional planning and execution of workstreams for strategic initiatives that unlock business value for DTC. The ideal candidate combines strong business and product fluency, analytical rigor, and strategic thinking, with the ability to navigate complex organizations and drive initiatives from concept through execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead independent workstreams of large cross-functional initiatives; owning from problem definition through execution, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and progress toward defined outcomes.
- Develop business models that quantify the potential impact of new initiatives, capabilities, executions or growth strategies to inform approval and prioritization of work
- Partner with Product teams to inform initiative scope, capability requirements, and rollout strategies that maximize business impact.
- Distill technical complexity and nuances into clear business implications for cross-functional partners and leadership.
- Identify capabilities that enable new growth opportunities, definition requirements and advocate for roadmap prioritization
- Align stakeholders across Product, Programming, Marketing, Lifecycle, Finance, and Data around initiative goals, requirements, and success metrics.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution while maintaining focus on strategic objectives and business outcomes.
- Identify risks, tradeoffs, and dependencies across initiatives and help drive resolution to maintain momentum.
- Partner with Analytics and Data Science teams to evaluate initiative performance and and synthesize data into clear, actionable insights
- Support leadership decision-making through clear, data-driven recommendations.
- Thrive in a highly matrixed environment by building strong partnerships and driving clarity across teams.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in consulting, business operations, business strategy, or product strategy
- Experience working in matrixed cross-functional environments with Business, Finance, Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Technology teams
- Product fluency with an ability to grasp technical concepts and engage deeply with product teams, coupled with business and financial fluency to translate financial and business targets into executable plans
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Ability to drive workstreams and initiatives from concept through execution with limited oversight
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead through influence to create alignment and action with stakeholders across multiple functions
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-moving environments with an ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing based on business impact
- Strong judgment in stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem solving skills
- Project Management Skills, including the ability to create plans and manage their execution with consideration for dependencies, sequencing, and capacity constraints
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in streaming, media, subscription, or consumer technology businesses
- Experience launching growth initiatives across product and marketing surfaces
- Strong affinity for The Walt Disney Company's brands and franchises
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $145,800.00 - $195,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
