As part of the TP&P team, the Vendor Management Office (VMO) is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of vendor-related processes across our organization. As part of this mission, the VMO aims to leverage data-driven insights to optimize vendor management, streamline operations, and support informed decision-making.
The Senior Analyst, Vendor Portfolio will play a critical role in this vision by overseeing vendor contract portfolio and the financial operations, ensuring accurate invoice processing, cost allocation, and financial reconciliation for outsourced services with an emphasis on cloud vendors. This role will collaborate with vendor operations team, Disney FP&A teams, Controllership and Product and Platform Owners and executive stakeholders to manage vendor portfolio efficiently, maintain cloud marketplace purchase processes, and address any invoice disputes. The Senior Analyst will play a key role in optimizing cloud financial operations, allocation, and chargeback, especially related to marketplace purchases, within the vendor management office (VMO).
Responsibilities:
Vendor Portfolio Management:
Act as the primary liaison between the company and vendors on contract finance terms.
Act as a liaison between vendors, enterprise technology teams, and business units to align cost transparency efforts.
Review vendor contracts and amendments to assess financial impact and perform cost-benefit analysis to support negotiation and renewal decisions.
Conduct pricing sensitivity and impact analyses to evaluate rate changes and consumption patterns.
Invoice Management & Processing:
Collaborate with third-party service providers to receive, validate, and accurately process monthly invoices.
Track, coordinate, and resolve invoice disputes, discrepancies, or service billing issues.
Ensure all invoices comply with contract terms, purchase orders, and service usage documentation.
Reconcile invoice discrepancies and coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders for resolution.
Prepare and submit monthly reclassification reports to ensure proper financial allocation and transparency.
Support the month-end financial close process by adhering to strict corporate financial calendar deadlines.
Monitor automated workflows to ensure efficient invoice ingestion and error handling.
Cost recovery, Chargebacks, and Allocations:
Gather and load cost data to generate monthly vendor chargeback invoices to the business; create and analyze pre-bill reports to ensure accuracy prior to final billing.
Identify, track, and resolve invoice disputes by troubleshooting root causes; determine whether issues are system/tool, process, or data-related, and correct IT financial management system issues directly or coordinate resolution with data owners as needed.
Develop, maintain, and enhance chargeback and cost allocation models to equitably recover vendor expenses across the business
Establish and manage databases to store, organize, and report on allocation data and business rules.
Leverage IT financial management tools to support the chargeback processes.
Analyze operational and financial reports that underpin chargeback and allocation models.
Cloud Marketplace & Procurement Oversight:
Manage cloud marketplace purchases, approvals, and checkpoints.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and vendor agreements.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial governance.
Partner with Cloud Engineering and Data teams to ensure alignment between cloud cost data and payments.
Financial Coordination & Reporting:
Collaborate with Corporate Finance, FP&A, Accounting, and Accounts Payable to ensure accurate cloud and other vendor type cost reporting and invoice payments.
Generate reports and insights to support cloud expense optimization initiatives.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
Develop and refine best practices for cloud marketplace expense management and reporting.
Define and maintain automated data feeds from operational and reporting systems (internal and external) into IT financial management tools to streamline chargeback and allocation processes..
Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and other regulatory requirements as needed.
Assist in the maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of API integrations with SAP and other financial systems.
Create and maintain documentation for allocation methodologies, service taxonomies, reporting logic, and business rules.
Support audits and internal reviews as needed.
Qualifications:
5 years of experience in financial analysis, vendor management, cloud expense management, or related roles.
Strong knowledge of cloud billing models, cost allocation, and invoice validation processes.
Proficiency in financial systems, ERP tools, and expense management software (e.g., SAP, Coupa).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Experienced with using and defining relational data and analysis models
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with FinOps principles, cloud cost optimization, and financial forecasting.
Experience using cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing).
Experience with IT financial management tools (e.g., ComSci, Apptio).
Understanding of various database and analysis tools, platforms, and languages (e.g. SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, Tableau, etc).
FinOps certification or experience implementing FinOps best practices.
Familiarity with large-scale IT vendor contracts and procurement processes.
Experience using cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing).
Experience with IT financial management tools (e.g., ComSci, Apptio).
FinOps certification or experience implementing FinOps best practices.
Familiarity with large-scale IT vendor contracts and procurement processes.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
#DISNEYTECH
The hiring range for this position in California is $104,600 - $140,200 per year and in Washington is $109,500 - $146,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
